Naio Essential Oil

Description

Naio, Myoporum sandwicens, is the rare addition to your skincare worth making room for: a gentle, targeted oil that slips into the ritual you already love and gives your skin a little more.

A rare Hawaiian essential oil, Naio is naturally rich in alpha-bisabolol, the compound behind its calming, complexion-supporting story. It is the same ingredient found across skincare, most often as an isolated compound. Here, Naio gives it to you whole. Naio is steam distilled from the wood of native naio trees at the Kealakekua Mountain Reserve in Hawaii, part of the largest reforestation effort in Hawaiian history, and tested to the CPTG standard.

Add a drop to your moisturizer or apply it where your skin needs extra care. One oil, a drop at a time, with a reason for being that reaches all the way back to the land it came from.

How it Works

Alpha-bisabolol, one of the most studied ingredients in skincare, is the constituent behind most of what Naio does for your skin. Applied topically, it works at the surface, where research suggests it may help:

• soothe the look of occasional irritation
• reduces the appearance of skin imperfections
• contribute to a more even, balanced-looking complexion over time

Most of that research has studied alpha-bisabolol as an isolated compound. Naio carries the same constituent in its whole-oil form, with the naturally occurring chemistry of the plant around it.
